Rebound Quotes for 2013

I wrote a post last week for Costa Mesa real estate readers about my predictions for the 2013 market year. Of course, I’m just a guy, just little ‘ol me, so what credence would you give me?
 
I’ve been doing real estate for more than 10 years. I’ve seen the normal, the up, the down, and now the up again. But for you old salty dogs out there who think they have seen even more than me in a Costa Mesa market, I found some good quotes. Pretty convincing quotes. Quotes from a wide spectrum of folks that think real estate is on an uptick.
 

Let’s check ’em out, from nationally known real estate figures:

“Every single thing about housing is flashing green” – Jaime Dimon, CEO JP Morgan Chase
 
“…we are past the worst of the foreclosure problem brought about by the housing bubble bursting six years ago.” – Darren Blomquist, VP of RealtyTrac
 
“The last few months have brought a spate of favorable news on the US housing market with construction up, more home sales, and home-value growth turning positive.” – Frank Nothaft, Chief Economist of Freddie Mac
 
“We are seeing a continued increase in optimism about the direction of home prices. Real estate agents expect the recent pickup in the real estate market to continue the coming two years.” – Louis Cammarosano, GM HomeGain
 
“Builders across the country are reporting some of the best sales conditions they’ve seen in more than five years, with more serious buyers coming forward and a shrinking number of vacant and foreclosed properties on the market.” – Barry Ruttenber, Chairman National Home Builders Assoc.
 
“I’m going across the country meeting with managers, and the only topic we’re talking about is hiring.” – Glen Kelman, Redfin
 
“Rising prices could eventually encourage more sellers to put their homes on the market which would help boost demand even further” – Nick Timiraos – Wall Street Journal, Dec 18 2012
 
“Consumer attitudes toward both the economy and the housing market continue to gather momentum…” – Doug Duncan, SVP, Chief Economist of Fannie Mae
 
“2013 could be the year that inventory turns around, just as 2012 was the year that prices started recovering” – Jed Kolko, Chief Economist Trulia
 

My Take

Costa Mesa Market Rebounds show that Costa Mesa gas already recovered. We will see some more foreclosures like I mentioned in my 2013 predictions post, prices will rise, and buyer demand will continue to be hot through the beginning of the year and we will see gains in Costa Mesa real estate for owners. I think all of these quotes are right on- Costa Mesa has rebounded.
