Location
This a wonderful, mostly hidden, and unknown gated community in the South Coast Metro area of Costa Mesa real estate. This community is
located off of Susan Street, which is just north of the 405 Freeway and just west of Fairview Road.
Built between 2005-2006 by Standard Pacific home builders, this gated community is quite small, containing only 90 homes and 90 condominiums, which makes for a very friendly, get-to-know-your-neighbors type of community. It was built on land that was once owned by the Segerstrom family and it was the first part of a master plan for development of the land between South Coast Drive and the 405 freeway. Currently, there is a bean field that is being farmed adjacent to the freeway, but that eventually will become housing (or so the plan states).
Community Features
The community is built around a gorgeous community pool that is located in the center of the tract, and the homes are built on the north side of the community with the condominiums built on the south side. If you happen to work at one of the commercial buildings in Costa Mesa real estate close by, it is a treat to walk to work! You could also easily walk to South Coast Plaza (but you probably wouldn’t want to lug those bags home!!) or easily go to the movies or
Nordstrom Rack at Metro Point.
The Laurels
The condominiums are fantastic if you are looking for a
patio home style of living. The condos in this Costa Mesa real estate community are officially called “The Laurels”; each unit features a front porch/patio, and a 2 car garage and all are three-bedroom floor plans. Each unit has upstairs laundry, and ten-foot ceilings downstairs, and many of these units were built with high-end upgrades like granite countertops, recessed lighting, and wood floors. These condos truly feel like you are living in a home.
Providence Park
The homes are really great too; the homes are officially called “Providence Park” and the floor plans are between 3 and 4 bedrooms, the smallest of which is 2200 square feet and the largest of which is 2800, all are two-story floor plans. The homes also have many of the fine upgrades that the condos boast, and in addition, they have reasonable-sized backyards. All of the homes also feature dual living areas and open floor plans. One model has a downstairs bedroom, and the three-bedroom model features an open loft area perfect for an office, a children’s playroom, or an upstairs media room. Some of these models even have fun features, like small a small butler’s pantry that you would find in a much larger home.
Cool Features
Tot Lot - Many of the newer communities in Costa Mesa have started building Tot Lots as a place for the local kids to play. The tot lot is located at the back of the community and many of the kids and adults love to socialize back there!
