Central Costa Mesa has become a broader name for the area that is right in the middle of Costa Mesa real estate.  This is the most often overlooked area of the city while people are looking for homes, but contains some really great homes and conveniences in Costa Mesa real estate.

There are lots of wonderful neighborhoods, town homes and residential areas in the Central Costa Mesa area.  The neighborhood of College park was one of the first true planned neighborhoods that Costa Mesa had in this area along with the sprawling Mesa Del Mar development.

Location

The OC Fair brings more than 1,000,000 visitors each year

The official location for Costa Mesa real estate is the area that borders the general area in the south to Wilson Blvd , the area to the east that is bordered by the 55 Freeway , and to the north by the boundary of Baker Street.  The western most border of this area is also bound by Harbor Blvd.

Businesses and Convenience of Central Costa Mesa

Right smack dab in the middle of Costa Mesa we have some of the city’s core businesses. We have the City of Costa Mesa itself located on Fair Drive right across from the world famous Orange County Fair.  The Fair annually brings more than 1,000,000 visitors in and has a summer concert series that has recently brought world class names like Paul Simon and Bob Dylan to the fair. Orange Coast College (or OCC as everyone knows it by) is adjacent to the fairgrounds and has a sprawling campus that serves more than 24,000 students and faculty each year.  It was founded in 1947 and has become a well respected institution right here in Costa Mesa.

Parks

The Central Costa Mesa area has a great park in Tewinkle park. It is adjacent to the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds, and recently the city approved a Field of Dreams location for a new little league baseball complex to be built. It has a huge lake with lots of ducks and birds (great place to feed the ducks with the little ones!), the Costa Mesa tennis center is here (which holds a professional tournament each year), and there are great sports fields and playgrounds for adults and kids.  The Costa MesaFarm Sports Complex (or “the Farm” as most of us call it) was built in the early 2000′s for general public use and is now mostly used by the city’s soccer programs and the city’s flag football programs.
