Newest Neighborhood in Mesa Verde
The Mesa Verde Collection
is the newest set of homes built in the Mesa Verde area, and with lack of surrounding land around Mesa Verde, this will probably the last community that will be built in this area. The community was built in 2001 and sold out very, very quickly. It was the first new housing built in the area at that time in quite a while, so there was certainly pent up demand. Many people (including agents) call this the “Mesa Verde Collections” but it has always been the Mesa Verde Collection without an “s” on the end!
Builder / Home Type
These homes were built by Standard Pacific Homes, who are always known to build a quality product. To date, there have not been any builder lawsuits and the 10 year builder warranties are now just expiring. The homes that I know of have not had any real problems, so it seems to have been a very successful project, and the folks that live there love this small tight knit community. These homes are not quite a patio type home, but do feature smaller lots that have smaller backyards. The interiors of the homes are exceptionally well laid out and have a minimum of three bedrooms plus office and most have 4 bedrooms.
Floor plans at the Mesa Verde Collection range from a size of 2580 to a size of 2972 square feet. There are four floor plans; the model homes were the first four located along the first left turn on Amberleaf on the left hand side. All of the homes have high 10 foot ceilings downstairs, and a comfortable 8 feet upstairs, making the homes feel ever more spacious. All have a fireplace in the family rooms, and all the plans tried to make the downstairs floor plan as open as possible. The other popular features when they were built were recessed lighting, gourmet kitchens with granite countertops, built-in entertainment centers, plantation shutters, large master bedrooms with walk-in closets, and lavish master bathrooms with separate soaking tubs and showers. Some of the models feature an old style covered porch, reminiscent of the old days when you would sit back, relax, and take it all in from your front porch.
Community Features
There are only six streets in the complex: Amberleaf, Hibiscus (the only cul-de-sac), Briar Rose, Briarwood, Bougainvillea, Beachwood, and Ashwood. It is a small community of only 69 homes. In the center of the community is the association pool which has wonderful seating and even Vegas-style cabanas! First come, first serve I guess!! There is also a really nice park/tot-lot for the kids to play at next to the pool.
Local Convenience
The proximity to local shopping is tremendous for the Mesa Verde Collection. You are walkable to Vons, Starbuhttp://starbucks.comcks, Soup Plantation, CVS drugstore, a yoga center, a gorgeous cafe, two banks, 2 chinese restaurants, 2 mexican restaurants, a japanese restaurant, a sub shop and an italian restaurant. Target is less than a mile down the way, and Costco is nearby too. Like to golf? You could easily walk to the Costa Mesa Country Club (public) to play on one of two 18 hold courses, or Mesa Verde Country Club (private) is a half mile away.
Seldom are homes available, but when they are, they will be listed below:
