19th in CA!
Costa Mesa has a whole lot to live up to according to a recent survey. Little ‘ol Costa Mesa has been ranked 19th in our state for priciest real estate, according to a Coldwell Banker report published this past month. Next door neighbor Newport Beach found it’s way to number 2 in the rankings, just behind Bay Area suburb Los Altos.
It really says a lot for Costa Mesa – our average asking price was $851,799 according to the report. Compare that to our neighbor Irvine who finished 28th in the poll with an average asking price of $721,035.
Top Ten? Costa Mesa 19th Priciest in State
The top ten was mostly rounded out by pricey Silicon Valley suburbs who have average asking prices of around $1.6 – $1.7 Million dollars. We won’t see the top ten anytime soon, sorry 🙂
Costa Mesa has really come a long way. The fact that we are in the top twenty speaks volume about how wonderful this city is, despite certain weakness in our housing and industrial makeup on the west side of town. Our average asking price was mostly supported by our Eastside Costa Mesa neighborhoods as well as our pricier neighborhoods in the Mesa Verde area.
Continued Rise? Costa Mesa 19th Priciest in State
I would expect the price trend to continue. Our housing is limited with little new land to develop and add residential single family homes to, and there is little planned for new multi family homes either. People appreciate the ease of access to freeways, to local shopping, to world class entertainment and South Coast Plaza, and once you live here you really understand what a great place it is to live. Friendly neighbors, great shopping, great people, why wouldn’t you pay for that?
Costa Mesa is a great place to call home.
